Patricia Susanna Monger, a long-time Maple Valley resident, passed away on March 30, 2024. Shw was born May 20, 1936 to Paul and Agnes Day in Tacoma, Washington.
Pat graduated from Stadium High School in 1954, where she excelled academically. She attended Pacific Lutheran University for one year before marrying the love of her life.
She married Edward Monger on August 20, 1955. The happy couple settled down in Napavine, Washington for one year before moving to Maple Valley following the birth of their first daughter, Paula. They went on to have two more children, another daughter Peggy; and a son Joe. After her children became young adults, Patricia went to work for Group Health where she remained a valued employee for 20 years before retiring.
Patricia had a passion for cats, cross-stitching and was an avid reader as well as a skilled calligrapher. She never failed to complete a crossword, one of many activities she enjoyed with her husband. A wonderful mother and a wonderful grandmother.
Patricia was preceded in death by her eldest daughter Paula and her husband Rod, and her loving husband Ed. She is survived by her daughter Peggy Oen (Jeff), her son Joe Monger (Sheila), and her grandchildren Katy Mills (Tammy), Kristen Bowden (Cody), and Nick Oen. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
There will be a private service celebrating her long and happy life.
