Black Diamond

On December 31 at 8:46 p.m. on the 30400 block of 3rd Ave., officers stopped a vehicle for a speed violation. Upon investigating, it was discovered that a 43-year old male driver was under the influence after failing the field sobriety tests. The driver blew breath tests of .182/.183. He was arrested, and the vehicle impounded.

On December 29 at approximately 8:21 p.m. on the 23400 block of SE Auburn/Black

Diamond Rd., officers were dispatched to a report of construction fencing blocking the road. When officers arrived, they removed the hazard and cleared the road without incident.

On December 27 at approximately 3:56 p.m. on the 30500 block of 3rd Ave., officers were dispatched to an unwanted person in an abandoned building. Upon arrival, officers made contact with two subjects, who were skating around on razor scooters. Officers identified the individuals and advised them of a better place to park their vehicles.

Covington

On December 29 at 8:30 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 270th Pl., a male knocked on a business window causing everyone in the business to look at him while another male entered the business through another door, stole the tip jar and then fled the business.

On December 27 at 4:33 p.m. on the 20200 block of SE 259th St., a driver was observed crossing the center line several times before driving home. Upon contact, the male smelled of an extreme odor of alcohol. The male admitted to drinking beers and an empty half gallon of alcohol was observed in his vehicle. The male refused to take the Field Sobriety Tests or supply a breath sample. He was booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) for DUI.

On December 19 at 3:30 p.m. on the 16400 block of SE 270th Pl., a male was observed grabbing a donation kettle after the attendant stepped a few feet away from the kettle. The male fled to a waiting vehicle in the parking lot and jumped in before fleeing the area. Check of the area ended with negative results.

King County

On December 30 at 1:32 a.m. on the 18200 block of 140th Ave. SE, a vehicle was observed exceeding the speed limit. Upon contact, an odor of alcohol could be detected. After refusing to take the Field Sobriety Tests, the male driver gave breath samples of .126/.125. The male was cited for DUI and given an infraction for Speeding.

On December 29 at 10:30 a.m. on the 18000 block of 145th Ave. SE, it was reported that someone entered a vacant residence via the garage door and stole various electrical equipment as well as a washer and dryer.

On December 28 at 8:30 p.m. on the 17200 block of 140th Ave. SE, two males were observed going to a locked liquor storage cabinet at a business, removing an inner locking device, and stealing 20 bottles of liquor worth approximately $1,192.

On December 27 at 6:25 p.m. on the 31700 block of Kent/Black Diamond Rd., someone standing in a woods line area threw a rock that made a softball sized hole in the front windshield of a vehicle as it was being drive along the roadway. A second vehicle in back of the first vehicle was also hit with a rock. Check of the area ended with negative results.

On December 24 between 8 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. of December 28 on the 13400 block of SE 181st St., someone attempted to enter a residence by using a pry tool between a door and wood trim. A second door also had pry marks.

On December 23 between 7 p.m. and 12:45 a.m. of December 24 on the 28600 block of 192nd Pl. SE, a resident left her garage door open. Later, she heard noises coming from the garage and as she was going to look she heard a knock at her door. When she answered the door, it was her neighbor informing her that a male was seen carrying a backpack out of her garage. Checking her garage, the resident found that the male had stolen her vehicle registration, disabled plackard, garage door opener and a fleece jacket.

Maple Valley

On December 23 at 3:28 p.m. in the area of SE 272nd St. and 228th Ave. SE, a vehicle was observed with its hazard lights on while blocking a turn lane that had another vehicle parked behind it. Checking a little closer revealed that the vehicles had been in a collision. According to the front driver, he had stopped his vehicle when the suspect driver ran into the back of his vehicle. Upon contact, the suspect driver smelled of an odor of alcohol as well as found it hard to balance. Through the help of an interpreter, the suspect male refused to sign any documents or take a breath test. After struggling through the taking of blood samples, the male was booked into Kent Jail. He was cited for DUI, and speeds too fast to avoid a collision. His vehicle was also impounded.

On December 22 at 5 p.m. on the 26900 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, two males walked out of a business without paying for merchandise including milk, chicken wings and a few bottles of alcohol. The men got into a vehicle with the merchandise and left the area.

On December 21 at 11:19 a.m. on the 25100 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, occupants were contacted in a trailer that was sitting on a property that they did not own. Check of the male and female revealed the female had a warrant, however, SCORE would not take her as she was pregnant. Both were given Trespass Letters and left the property. A second male came to the property to retrieve his belongings. He was given a Trespass Letter as well and stated he would assist in cleaning the trash on the property.
