Black Diamond

On March 18 at 2:15 a.m. on the 30400 block of 3rdAve., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle driver. The 61-year old male, who was unable to perform the Field Sobriety Tests and refused a breath sample, was arrested for DUI and booked into the Issaquah Jail. The motorcycle was impounded.

On March 16 at approximately 8:32 p.m. on the 31500 block of Lake Sawyer Rd., officers were dispatched regarding a report of stranded boaters on Lake Sawyer. Officers contacted the reporting party and were informed that three boaters had become stranded on an island on Lake Sawyer after their boat had capsized. Officers utilized the department boat and were able to secure the stranded boaters. The individuals were evaluated by fire personnel and released at the scene.

On March 12 at 9:09 p.m. on the 21900 block of SE 296thSt., officers contacted an individual who appeared to be unconscious in a vehicle on the side of the roadway. It appeared the vehicle had driven off the roadway and had stopped just prior to impacting a wood fence. There were several empty beer cans and bottles on the floor of the vehicle. Upon investigation, it was determined that the 24-year old male was under the influence of intoxicants, and he was arrested. The individual was transported to Jail, and the vehicle impounded.

Covington

On March 22 at 6:26 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 270thPl., officers were dispatched for a shoplift at a business. Upon arrival, it was learned that a female had concealed makeup and a pair of pants that were worn under the females own pants. She also traded her shoes for a pair of shoes belonging to the business. The female identified herself with a name, but finally admitted she was actually someone else. The female had come to the business with her boyfriend, who was waiting in a vehicle in the parking lot. Check of the female revealed her license was suspended. Check of the male revealed he had a warrant. Both were booked into SCORE – the male for his warrant of Theft, 3rddegree, and the female who was charged for Trespass, 1stdegree (she had already been trespassed for life from the business), Making False Statement, and Theft, 3rddegree.

On March 20 at 1:35 p.m. on the 27300 block of Covington Way SE, two males were observed entering a business, stealing 4 boxes of shoes and then fleeing the area in a vehicle. Check of the area ended with negative results.

On March 16 at 6:13 p.m. on the 18400 block of SE 272ndSt., officers were dispatched to a business in order to trespass a female. As officers approached their destination, they learned the female had left the premises with a male from previous shoplifts. The vehicle they left in was observed traveling along the roadway. Upon contact, check of the driver and passengers revealed the male passenger had a felony warrant. Both the male and female passengers received Trespass Warning Letters, and the male booked into King County Jail on his warrant.

King County

On March 22 between 9:45 a.m.-5:48 p.m. on the 13900 block of SE 173rdPl., deputies were dispatched to a report of a vandalism. Upon contact, the owner of a pickup with a camper shell stated he was sleeping when he heard a bang followed by the whole camper shaking. The next morning the male observed a dent in the driver’s door along with a boot mark.

On March 22 at 1:50 a.m. on the 17200 block of 140thAve. SE, a vehicle was observed in a business parking lot for over an hour with its rear license plate covered and no front plate. Upon contact, check of the plate revealed the vehicle had been reported sold, but the plate had expired in 2015. Check of the driver revealed he had a long list of convictions but was not currently engaged in criminal activity, so he was released. Deputies located another male in the business who was observed exiting the vehicle. The male gave a false name at first, but after being positively ID’d, check of the male with his real name revealed he had two felony warrants for burglary, 2nddegree and narcotics violation. Search of the male revealed heroin. The male was booked into King County Jail on his warrants.

On March 19 at 7:33 p.m. on the 14100 block of SE 177thSt., a deputy responded to a welfare check of a child whose mother was supposedly smoking heroin in front of the child. Upon arrival, there was no answer to an initial call made by the deputy. Check of the female revealed she had a warrant for Theft, 3rddegree. Upon contact, the female stated she, and the male making the report had had an argument in which she refused to allow their daughter to go out of state with the male (father of the child). Check of the residence showed no evidence of drugs being used, was neat, and tidy, and the child happy. The child was left with relatives while the female was booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) on her warrant.

On March 19 at 5:10 p.m. in the area of SE 176thAve. and 147thAve. SE, a deputy was dispatched to a non-injury accident. Upon arrival, the driver was standing outside of the vehicle. According to the male driver, while slowing down another driver struck him from behind and then took off without stopping. The driver that took off was contacted and stated the first driver cut him off and he didn’t have time to stop. He left the scene due to not having insurance and he was scared. The male was informed that he would be receiving infractions for Operating Vehicle without Insurance and Speed Too Fast for Conditions. The male was released pending filing of charges for Hit & Run Attended Vehicle.

On March 18 at 6:28 a.m. on the 23900 block of 148thAve. SE, a vehicle was observed parked on the roadway shoulder with the engine running. While approaching the vehicle for contact, drug paraphernalia was observed in the passenger seat and the driver asleep without clothes on from the waist down. Upon being awakened, the male took his hoody off in order to cover his waist area. Following an investigation, the male was released, as he no longer appeared to be impaired.

On March 15 at between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. of March 16 on the 22000 block of 234thAve. SE, someone entered an unlocked construction vehicle and stole a chainsaw as well as hand and hydraulic tools.

Maple Valley

On March 19 at 6:37 p.m. on the 21800 block of SE 249thPl., it was reported that someone stole the contents of an envelope, somewhere in transit from an originating post office to a mailbox. The envelope was returned to the sender from the post office with a statement that it had been received without contents.

On March 18 at 9:11 a.m. in the area of SE Wax Rd. and Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, a male was observed riding a bike without a helmet. While attempting to make contact, the cyclist circled around to the back of a building. After exiting the patrol vehicle, the office chased the cyclist on foot and nearly had him when the cyclist rode the bicycle away. During an investigation, the male was identified for an outstanding warrant for Theft.

On March 17 between 8:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. of March 19 on the 23900 block of 222ndPl. SE, it was reported that a rented trailer had been stolen and then returned. Inside of the trailer was a large safe, which had been cut out near the lock.
