Black Diamond

On January 21 at 5 p.m. on the 32800 block of 3rd Ave., officers observed a herd of sheep and goats wandering around outside the Black Diamond City Shops buildings. The animals were wrangled back into a fenced area where they live. Contact was made with the owner of the animals, and the gate was secured.

On January 17 at approximately 2 p.m. on the 34000 block of Plass Rd., officers were notified by Public Works that someone had dumped approximately 20 tires. Officers responded to the area and located the tires. After taking photos, Public Works was contacted to pick up the tires. Officers were later informed by Public Works that an unknown male in a white Ford 150 pickup had picked up all of the tires and removed them from the scene.

On January 15 at approximately 11:48 p.m. near the 31700 block of Lake Sawyer Rd., an officer stopped a vehicle for impeding traffic. The suspect provided the officer with a false name. Upon further investigation, his true identity was obtained, and the officer determined that the driver had a suspended license in the 2nd degree. The suspect was booked into Enumclaw Jail.

Covington

On January 25 at 2:02 a.m. in the area of SR 169 and SE 231st St., a male driver was heard spinning the tires of his vehicle as he was making a turn. He was also observed driving on the shoulder of the road for a number of feet. Upon contact, the male, who smelled of intoxicants, stated he had two beers. After failing the Field Sobriety Tests, the male admitted to drinking 3 beers and smoking marijuana 3 hours prior. The male provided breath tests of .169/.186, and then booked into King County Jail for DUI.

On January 22 at 9:33 p.m. on the 16500 block of Covington Way SE, a male was observed riding a skateboard on the roadway and was nearly hit by a driver. Upon contact, the male stated that he loved skateboarding down his favorite hill. Check of the male revealed he had a felony warrant for Obstructing Court Order – Fail to pay. Search of the male revealed a glass pipe, and crystallized substance in a clear baggy, which, when tested was meth. The male was booked into King County Jail on his warrant. The male was recommended with an additional charge of Attempted VUCSA (Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act).

On January 17 at 12:24 p.m. in the 16900 block of SE 272nd St., suspicious adults were observed in a business parking lot. Check of a license plate of one of the vehicles associated with the group revealed it was reported stolen. As the officer approached the group, a male jumped in the vehicle, however, the officer positioned his patrol vehicle in such a way that the male could not escape with the stolen vehicle. The male exited the vehicle through the passenger window and a second vehicle associated with the group was quickly driven away. The rest of those in the group were ordered to the ground by the officer. One male ran off to a nearby wooded area behind the business as others took off into the parking lot. Meanwhile, a homeless male and female stayed behind with officers and were questioned. K9 tracked the male who fled the scene after attempting to escape in the stolen vehicle. He was treated for dog bite injury before being booked into King County Jail for investigation of Vehicle Theft.

King County

On January 28 at 4:18 a.m. on the 18900 block of 177th Ave. SE, someone entered a closed garage and stole two electric scooters, two chargers, and a helmet. It was found that one of the vehicles parked in the driveway was left unlocked and a garage door opener had been removed from where it was stored in the vehicle.

On January 27 between 5-7:19 a.m. on the 17600 block of 134th Ave. SE, an unknown female was found wrapped in a blanket, sleeping on the floor of an apartment she did not know. One of the residents of the apartment left without locking the door and the female let herself in. She was trespassed from the apartment.

On January 26 between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. on the 22200 block of 260th Ave. SE, someone entered a fenced property and stole a generator, as well as sump pump, tool boxes with tools, chainsaw, circular saw and cordless tools.

On January 23 at 12:50 p.m. on the 17200 block of 140th Ave. SE, a male was observed taking two bottles of alcohol and placing then in his jacket before leaving the business without paying for the items. Check of the area ended with negative results. A while later, the suspect was observed returning to the business and placing the stolen items back in the business.

On January 21 at 10 a.m. on the 34100 block of SE 270th St., a male with warrants for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Making a False Statement to a Public Servant, and Theft, 3rd degree, was contacted at his house. The male was booked into Kent Jail on his warrants.

On January 21 between 8:30-11 a.m. on the 27600 block of 192nd Pl. SE, someone broke a window in a door to a residence and ransacked an office as well as bedroom. Stolen items included a laptop, tablet, jewelry box, and keys to a vehicle, which was also stolen.

Maple Valley

On January 25 at 4 p.m. on the 21800 block of SE 248th St., officers were dispatched to a suspicious male in a public bathroom. Upon arrival, the male was observed in the bathroom with drug paraphernalia. The male admitted to smoking heroin. He was trespassed from the business, and then booked into Kent Jail for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On January 22 at 12:39 p.m. on the 23800 block of SE 244th St., while running a vehicle license plate, it was found that the owner had a suspended license. Upon contact, the female driver stated she was unaware that her license was still suspended as she thought her fines were paid off. Her female passenger was found to have a felony warrant for Theft, 2nd degree. The vehicle was impounded, and the driver cited for Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree. The passenger was booked into King County Jail on her warrant.

On January 22 at 3:24 a.m. on the 24100 block of SE 261st Pl., a male suspect entered a property and attempted to open a locked vehicle. When the suspect could not open the vehicle, he walked away.
