Maple Valley Food Bank’s ‘Kids Helping Kids’ School Supply event coming Wednesday

This Wednesday, August 7, Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services is hosting a school supply volunteering event at Cedar Lodge.

Here are the details from the Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services Facebook Page:

Join the Maple Valley Food Bank for the annual “Kids Helping Kids” volunteer program!

Nearly 40% of the clients we serve at the food bank are children, and we think it’s important that the kids in our community find ways to help their peers!

DETAILS:
We’ve created a drop-in volunteer opportunity for parents and their children who are interested in supporting our backpack program on Wednesday, August 7 from 12-2 PM.

Drop in at any time and stay as long as you’d like to help us sort supplies for our annual backpack program, which serves nearly 600 kids and allows them to start their school year on the right foot.

There is no age restriction, but your children must be supervised by you at all times. If you think they’re ready + able to volunteer with you, they’re more than welcome!

This is a great opportunity to fill a need, make an impact, and get involved in an organization that is serving so many in our community.
