Black Diamond Police News Updated 3-30 to 4-5-2020

On 3-30-2020, at approximately 0300 hours Black Diamond Officers discovered the guardrail at 34300 3rd AVE to be damaged from a vehicle collision. Officers located the vehicle in the 33100 block of Jones Lake RD, the vehicle had been left unattended. Officers conducted an investigation and were unable to identify who had been driving.

On Monday, 03/30/2020, Officers were dispatched to the 30800 block of 228th AVE SE in regard to a report of damage to a mailbox. The mailbox appeared to have been struck by a vehicle overnight. No suspect information or vehicle information was available.

On 3/30/2020, at about 0942 hours, an officer was dispatched to a phone report regarding a possible mail theft that occurred in the 30400 block of Blaine AVE. Upon speaking with the complainant and reviewing surveillance video, it was determined that no theft occurred.

On Monday, 03/30/2020, Officers were dispatched to the 25300 block of Baker ST in regard to a report of a disturbance. Officers determined that no crime had been committed, and advised the involved party on obtaining a no contact order

On 3/30/2020, at about 15:08 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 25200 block of Merino PL regarding two loose German Shepherds. The complainant reported that the dogs were on his property and began acting aggressively towards his dog. Officers located the dogs nearby and secured them inside of their fence without incident. Officers contacted the residence and advised them that their dogs had gotten out through an open gate. No dogs were injured during this incident.

ON 03-31-2020, at approximately 09:51 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a commercial burglary. Officers were informed that the owner of the Lake Sawyer Grocery called to report that two male subjects used bolt cutters to cut a chain to gain access into a fenced area behind the store. The subjects entered the fenced area and then left without taking anything.

On 03-31-2020, at approximately 11:34 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a parking complaint from the President of the Ten Trails HOA.  Officers were informed that a 2014 GMC Sierra was parked in front a residence in the 32800 block of Madrona AVE SE. Officers located the vehicle and found that it was legally parked.  Officers spoke with the President of the Ten Trails HOA and informed the subject that the vehicle was not stolen and was legally parked.

On 03-31-2020, at approximately 12:44 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a civil standby. Officers were advised that a female wanted contact at Royal Towing of Black Diamond to retrieve items from her vehicle. Officers arrived at the tow yard and confirmed the subjects identity.  The subject then removed some personal items from the impounded vehicle

On 3/31/2020, officers responded to the 22500 block of SE 296 ST for a female slumped over in a vehicle. Officers arrived to find the female awake. She did not need any assistance and left the location

On 04-02-2020, at approximately 11:56 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a hit and run traffic collision. Officers called the reporting person on the telephone, and was informed that sometime between 03-19-2020 and 04-02-2020, someone struck the back of her vehicle while it was parked on the side of Willow AVE SE. There is no suspect information at this time.

On 04-02-2020, at approximately 13:27 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a fraud. Officers were asked to call a subject who wanted to report that he believed that he applied for a job with a fraudulent company.  Officers called the subject who stated that he applied online for a job as a graphic designer on 04-01-2020 and now believes that the company may be fraudulent. The subject did not provide the company with any sensitive information or bank account information

On 4/2/2020 an officer was dispatched to an area check on Lake Sawyer for a fisherman violating the Governor’s stay at home order. Contact was made with the reporting party and arraignments were made to have Public Works close the boat launch to further use.

On 04/02/2020, at approximately 2157 hours, a Black Diamond Officer was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle at the 32100 block of Union Drive. A vehicle matching the description provided was located traveling west on Roberts Drive; however, there was no reasonable suspicion to stop it, nor did the vehicle commit any traffic infractions.

On 04/02/2020, at approximately 2304 hours Black Diamond Officers responded to a suspicious persons call at the 31200 Block of 3rd Ave, Black Diamond, Washington 98010. Upon arrival, subjects were located removing firewood from a recently clearcut area. Contact was made with the owner of the property who confirmed they had permission to remove the firewood.

On 4/5/2020, officers responded to the 25400 block of Kanaskat Drive for a report of loud music from a party. Officers contacted the subjects who agreed to turn off the music and quiet down for the remainder of the night.

On Sunday, 04/05/2020 Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 22400 block of SE 300th in regard to a report of a disturbance between two individuals. It was determined that no crime had been committed, and the involved parties were advised on resolving it as a civil matter.

On Sunday, April 5, 2020, at about 1408 hours, an officer was dispatched to a phone report regarding a past occurred vehicle prowl. The prowl occurred in the 23800 block of FAIRFAX St. The vehicle was unlocked at the time and items were stolen. There are no leads or witnesses at this time. This case is inactive.

On Sunday, April 5,2020, at about 1550 hours, Black Diamond Officers were flagged down in the 31800 block of Lake Sawyer road, regarding an illegal dumping that occurred inside of the Palmer Coking Coal Co. During the investigation, officers located a stolen license plate, which was booked into evidence
