Black Diamond Police news April 27 to May 3, 2020

On Monday, 04/27/2020, Officers assisted citizens in clearing a tree that was down across Lake Sawyer RD SE.

On 04-28-2020, at approximately 09:42 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding an e-mail scam. Officers were asked to contact a female on the telephone who wanted to report that she received an e-mail requesting money. Officers contacted the female who stated that she received a suspicious e-mail from an unknown name at 04:00 hours. The e-mail stated that $400.00 needed to be paid to a bit-coin account or all of the females’s pornographic photographs would be released to the Internet. The female stated that she is 72 years old,, has never had any pornographic photographs taken of herself and had no intentions on sending any money. The female stated that she wanted the police to know about the scam.

On 04-28-2020, at approximately 01:32 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a marine complaint. Officers were informed that a male subject who resides on Lake Sawyer wanted to report that someone’s dock had broken away from shore and floated into the middle of the lake. Officers contacted Black Diamond Public Works who stated that they would retrieve the dock and return it to the proper residence.

On 4/28/2020, an officer responded to the 31700 block of 3rd Ave for a collision. The officer arrived and found there was no injuries. A collision report was completed and one driver was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

On 04-28-2020, at approximately 2126 hours, officers responded to the 2100 block of Roosevelt AVE in Enumclaw to assist Enumclaw Police Department with locating a felony harassment suspect. Officers conducted an area check and were unable to locate the suspect.They cleared the call and returned to the city without incident.

On 04-30-2020, at approximately 09:34 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding two suspicious subjects walking southbound on 3rd AVE. Officers were advised that a subject called 911 to report that fifteen minutes ago, the two white male subjects appeared to be transients and carrying blue tote bags as they walked down the street.  Officers conducted an area check for the subjects with negative results.

On 04-30-2020, at approximately 13:47 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a two vehicle collision that took place in the parking lot of the Lake Sawyer Store. Officers arrived and found that the traffic collision was non-reportable with no injuries or damage to either vehicle.

On 4/30/2020 an officer was dispatched to the 24900 block of Roberts DR for a hypodermic needle lying on the shoulder of the road. The officer arrived and located three needles which were disposed of in a sharps container.

On 04/30/2020, at approximately 1801 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department responded to SE Stevens St and Tahoma PL in reference to a suspicious person. The subject was located and it was determined that no crime had taken place.

On 04-30-2020, at approximately 2059 hours, officers responded to the 31100 block of 3rd AVE regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival it was determined that the occupants of the vehicle were homeless and had no place to stay. The vehicle moved along and officers cleared the scene without incident.

On 05-01-2020, at approximately 0015 hours, officers responded to the 23700 block of SE Addams ST for a report of a suspicious person. A subjects had set off a ring doorbell alarm on the resident’s front porch and left the scene. Upon officers’ arrival, an area check was conducted with negative results. Officers cleared the scene without incident.

On 5-1-2020, at approximately 0848 hours, Black Diamond Officers received a fraud report. Officers contacted the reporting party/victim and learned that someone had attempted to file for unemployment in their name, the attempt was unsuccessful. At this time there are no suspects.

On 05/01/2020, at approximately 1644 hours, Black Diamond Officers responded to the 24000 block of Dail Dr in reference to a civil standby. Officers stood by as subject removed personal belongings from a residence.

On 5-2-2020, at approximately 1149 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a call of suspicious activity in the 32600 block of Railroad AVE. It was reported that multiple stickers had been placed on public property along Railroad AVE. Officers located and removed eight stickers from the area.

On 5-3-2020, at approximately 0845 hours, Black Diamond Officers were flagged down in the 24000 block of Roberts DR. The subject expressed concerns that his family members were plotting against him and that they were abusing their children. Officers have had previous contacts with this individual expressing similar concerns, none of which were substantiated. Officers conducted a welfare check on the children and spoke with their guardian. The children appeared to be in good health and the guardian denied all allegations of abuse. This case was forwarded to Child Protective Services for review.

On 5/3/2020, an officer responded to the 32600 block of 5th Ave for a welfare check on a subject who was yelling. The officer was able to calm down the subject. The subject agreed to go inside and calm down for the remainder of the evening.

On 5/3/2020, an officer was dispatched for a domestic dispute that occurred in the 30500 block of Cumberland PL with one party already gone from the residence. Due to the parties being separated the officer contacted one party by phone. The other party was unable to be contacted.
