Black Diamond Police News

On 01/15/2024, an Officer was dispatched to a theft at the 32510 Newcastle Dr. The Officer contacted the complainant by phone who advised that his Apple Air pods were stolen in a vehicle prowl on this date in Seattle (SPD case number 24-135-91) along with other items. The complainant advised that the Air pods were currently pinging to the above listed address in Black Diamond.  The complainant was advised to contact the Seattle Police Department and provide them that information and that at their request a BDPD Officer would respond to the residence. Complainant called later and advised that the Air pods were currently pinging at a location in Tacoma, Washington.

On 1/15/24 at 1638 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department conducted a Traffic Stop at the 24300 block of Roberts DR. The vehicle was initially stopped for registration expired greater than 2 months but after contact and investigation, Officers identified the driver to be driving while have a suspended license and failure to transfer title within 45 days. The Officers issued a cite and released the vehicle to a licensed driver.

On 1/15/2024, an officer received a FLOCK camera hit for a vehicle with a stolen plate. The officer located the vehicle in the 25100 block of Roberts Drive. The officer determined the front plate had been reported stolen, but the rear plate had not been seized by the reporting agency. The officer seized the rear plate for destruction.

On 1/15/2023, officers received a FLOCK camera hit for a stolen vehicle in the 23000 block of Roberts Drive. Officers located the vehicle and found it was driven by a family member of the registered owner. The officers determined no crime had occurred and the vehicle was not actually stolen.

On 01/15/24, officers were dispatched to a welfare check at the 33000 block of Crystal Ave SE. Dispatch advised Black Diamond officers that the Auburn Police Department requested the welfare check and advised that there may have been a domestic violence incident that occurred between residents located at the address. Black Diamond officers contacted the involved parties and determined the parties had not been involved in a domestic disturbance.

On 01/16/24, officers on viewed a running vehicle stopped at the 22800 block of SE Fir St. with a male subject passed out in the drivers seat. Officers investigated the incident and were unable to establish probable cause that the subject was under the influence of intoxicants.

On 01/17/24, officers were notified by Black Diamond Public Works employees of a subject who appeared to have their vehicle stuck on the side of the 21600 block of SE 288th ST. Officers arrived on scene and assisted the motorist back onto the roadway.
